Thanks so much to Area 38, Boss Snowplow, and Recreation Lanes in Iron Mountain for another great UP bowling regional! Our athletes and volunteers had a blast! We are especially proud of our area 39 athletes coming from both the Houghton and Ironwood areas to represent the northwest UP.

As we approach our winter sports season, we are seeking coaches and volunteers for both our Houghton and Ironwood locations. The sports offered include basketball, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing (only at Houghton). No prior experience or expertise is required, and certification is readily available.

Our capacity to offer sports is contingent upon the availability of coaches and volunteers. Winter sports commence at the end of November and conclude in January for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, while basketball runs from the end of November to the beginning of March. The typical time commitment is once per week for approximately 1.5 hours. Winter sports typically practice on the weekends but we can be somewhat flexible depending on the practice venue.

If you are a certified coach and intend to return, please inform us. If you are new to coaching and eager to participate in this fulfilling endeavor, we encourage you to contact us as we are currently planning our winter sports season.

Thank you to all of the folks in our community who came out to run or donated to the LETR Flame of Hope Run today at the Houghton waterfront! We are especially proud and thankful to the City of Houghton Police Department for their support of LETR and sponsoring today’s event!
