Next Wed (9/9) please join a Climate Safe Walk Audit with the organization WalkMassachusetts (not an ESC event, we're just sharing). It will take place on Wed Sept 9th at 6pm by the Galvin Middle School and is open to the public. "A walk audit is a guided, interactive experience where community members evaluate how safe, accessible, and user-friendly our streets and public spaces are for everyone. The State Primary Election is today, Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Wakefield residents vote in the Galvin Middle School at 525 Main Street from 7 am to 8 pm. It's here! Launching Monday (31st), the much-anticipated Link Shuttle will take you around Wakefield and Reading (and to two local hospitals) for FREE on demand using an ALL ELECTRIC fleet of shared shuttle vehicles. This service is provided via a grant the town (and several neighboring towns) received to make local electric transit options available. Find the details here and download the app to request your first ride.

This free, on-demand, all-electric regional shuttle service will provide convenient, door-to-door transportation to community members within Wakefield and Reading.

Do you hate food waste? Have you been looking for a way to contribute? We're seeking a volunteer or two to help coordinate food rescue at the town elementary schools. This program rescues food leftover from school lunches and brings them to local food pantries and has been led by local volunteer Shyan Ong for many years. She needs backup and help driving the collected food. Contact the ESC to join the effort!
