What to expect for downtown road closures and parking considerations due to Celebrate America on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27:
*South Elkhart Street will be closed from Waterford Street to Harrison Street Thursday evening, June 25, beginning at 6:00 pm to allow set up for Celebrate America 250. It will be closed until the end of Celebrate America 250 late Saturday night after all food vendors and stage arrangements are removed. Please make sure to not park on South Elkhart Street during this closure. Thank you!
*OTHER ROAD CLOSURES AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS:
Waterford Street is closed from the half block at Short Stop Inn to Olive Street for the entire day of the event. There will be NO PARKING on the street during this closure. Parking on West Waterford from the half block next to the American Legion to Olive Street will be restored after the parade is over. Please make sure to not park is this designated area after 8:00 am on June 27. Parking will be restored after the event concludes at 9:00 pm.
North Elkhart Street will be closed from Waterford to Sycamore Street on June 27 from 8:00 am until after the parade. Once the parade is through town, North Elkhart Street will open to the half block next to Seifert Health Care. From the half block to Waterford Street, North Elkhart Street will remain closed until after the Celebrate America Event stage performances end at 9:00 pm.
The parking lot on South Elkhart Street will be closed to all cars, trucks, business vehicles to allow for the Water Ball competition and Farmers' Market taking place on June 27. Please make sure to find alternate parking for June 27 starting at 6:00 am for this parking lot. Parking to this lot will be restored at the end of the June 27 Celebrate America 250 Event around 9:00 pm.
