Stearns County is pleased to offer residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of waste tires through the use of SCORE funds.

Residents looking for assistance with the removal of nuisance tires, can fill out the APPLICATION and qualify for up to $2500 in assistance.

Each applicant must submit an estimated plan for disposal which includes 25% of the total cost being the responsibility of the applicant. Both the application pdf and W-9 pdf form must be submitted to be considered. An approval letter must be received before disposal or it will not qualify for a reimbursement.

Grant funds are available on a first come, first serve basis and must be submitted on or before December 1st or until funds are no longer available. Requests received after this date will not be considered.

Accepted and approved applicants must properly dispose of tires at appropriate locations and submit receipts to be eligible for reimbursement. Please email application, W-9, and receipts via email Tim Oswald or at 320-257-8608 for questions.

Stearns County’s Household Hazardous Waste truck will be in Melrose on Wednesday, May 20! Stop by 405 N 2nd Ave E SE between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to safely dispose of hazardous household items you can’t put in the garbage.
