From The Chiefs Desk:
With Hurricane Season upon us, I'd like to obtain some very helpful information from our community. God willing we will get through this season without any incidents and issues. However, the information I would like to list can assist us in serving the community best. If you have any individuals living in your homes or know a neighbor that has or is a special needs or medical needs person. Please call or stop in at either of the stations and we can compile a list for our knowledge. This information can and will assist us in having prior knowledge if we incur a weather or other emergency event. Many of our citizens are not on social media, so please check on your neighbors and friends and inform them to reach out to the fire department. The parish administration and emergency management are also attempting to compile a list. We will make sure that the information is given to them also.

The Second Harvest Mobile Market is currently open next to the fire station on Azalea Drive. It will be here until 11am. Stop in and get items you may need for your home and family .

Last night we learned about our local group joining up with Tunnel 2 Towers. Thank you to Mark Cambre Sr. and Jr. for your dedication to the families of our military and first responder heros.
Live Oak Manor Fire Department is in full support of the group and this local event.

Update on Live Oak Boulevard closure. As of 715 pm, the roadway is now reopened. I want to thank the citizens for cooperating in traveling other routes.

Just an FYI for anyone that uses Live Oak Boulevard. The fire department is currently onscene of an incident. We have Live Oak Boulevard shut down between Water Oaks Drive and Rivet Boulevard. Please use alternate routes to go west of Water Oaks .
I will advise when its back open.

Today is recognized as International Firefighters Day. I want to start by thanking our very own Live Oak Firefighters for what they do. Of course thank you to our brother and sister firefighters from the 7th District Departments. Thank you to all of the firefighters from the westbank, eastbank, Kenner, Westwego, Harahan, Gretna and Lafitte. Thank you to all firefighters across our state and nation. You are all appreciated everyday, today is the day in honor of you all. God Bless and prayers of protection for each of you.
