As of June 2, 2026, Southern Union officially celebrated its 104th birthday!

That means Southern Union is older than the Super Bowl, Mount Rushmore, Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney World, the Space Needle, Hoover Dam, LEGO, and even the Social Security Administration!

For 104 years, Southern Union has stood the test of time, growing stronger and making a greater impact with each passing year. Thanks to the support of thousands of alumni, hundreds of dedicated faculty and staff members, and countless community partners, our legacy continues to thrive.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to the next 104 years of transforming lives, strengthening communities, and serving as a pillar of educational excellence across our region.

🍪The Farmers Market every Saturday morning in the downtown parking lot.
👮Sign-ups start for the Junior Police Academy with the Wadley Police Department .

🎓 Southern Union State Community College Graduation – May 8th at 10:00 AM
🎓 Wadley High School Graduation – May 16th at 10:00 AM
🚴 Bike Hike Warm-Up Event – May 8th at lunch time, where local teams will be throwing a mullet at Eagle 102.3 WELR-FM!
🚴‍♂️ Randolph County Learning Center Bike Hike – May 16th
☀️ Field Day with the Wadley Youth Recreation – May 23rd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

🌿🧹 Clean-Up Week is underway in the Town of Wadley! Today our Mayor, Clerks, and Wadley Police Department are doing their part to help pick up trash and keep our community looking its best during April Clean-Up Month.

A big thank you to everyone in our community who takes pride in helping keep our town clean, welcoming, and beautiful. Every little bit makes a difference!

Reminder: The community dumpster will only be located at Town Hall this week, so be sure to take advantage of it while it’s here. Together, we can make a big impact! 🌎✨
