With more than 40 sworn positions and 30 volunteer, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office serves its 13,000+ residents on a daily basis. Marked squad cars patrol the county at all times of the day and night and will often be seen in all areas of the county.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the deployment of a new Mobile Alert System in partnership with RAVE Mobile Safety to enhance emergency communication with residents.
Residents of Wadena County are encouraged to sign up for emergency alerts through Smart911 by visiting:
https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/login.action?pa=wadenaalerts
You can also search “Smart911/Wadena County” on any internet search engine.
This new system will be used to deliver important information during emergencies, including severe weather warnings and critical public safety alerts. By registering, residents can receive timely notifications that help them stay informed and take appropriate action when needed.
The Mobile Alert System may be used for:
• Severe weather alerts
• Emergency incidents and public safety threats
• Evacuation notices
• Other urgent situations affecting public safety
The Sheriff’s Office encourages all residents to sign up and ensure their contact information is up to date to receive alerts as quickly as possible.

Last week Deputy Garner, Deputy Wheeler, and Sgt Savaloja had the privilege to once again attend “Hooked on Fishing” events for area 4th graders from Menahga and Staples-Motley Schools. We look forward to this event every year and appreciate everyone’s hard to work to make everything come together. Not a lot of fish were caught, but we had plenty of laughs.
