Waddy Volunteer Fire Department The Waddy Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer department located in the south eastern corner of Shelby County in North Central Kentucky.

The Waddy Fire Department meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm. We welcome anyone who may be interested in serving their community to come see what we are about. We respond to a variety of emergencies in Waddy and surrounding areas in the Southeast part of Shelby County. We often team up with East 60 Fire Department for training and mutual aid. Our department is made up of local citizens wit

h a desire to serve their community. In addition to volunteering their time to become Firefighters, many have made the commitment and received training to be Emergency Medical Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians or EMT's. If you would like to join our team, please come fill out an application and meet our team. We provide all of the training and equipment you need, you just provide your time.

With the training ground coming together. We are looking for donations, for scrap pieces of metal, anywhere from 2 inches wide to 5 inches wide and however, long trying to keep the thickness below 3/8. Please send us a message if you have any questions.

Public Announcement!!  Please use caution on Waddy Road from Frankfort Road to Harrisonville and Matthew Young Road. We are out painting hydrants. They will be wet till the end of the day so please refrain from touching or blowing grass onto them.

Also the hydrants are painted the color they are so that the fire departments know what Gallons Per Minute they flow.

What to give a big shout out to the Waddy Volunteer Fire Dept board for approving to add a training facility here at the station! We have a 40ft container and a 20ft container. The training facility will benefit the community so that we can have amazing and very educational training to the guys and ladies that provide fire protection to the community. And also allowing the surrounding departmenta to train as well.

With that being said we are looking for some materials to help get the facility up and running for training. We are need of some scrap metal so we can make windows, doors and be able to attach the two containers. If anyone can help please send us a message here on Facebook! Thank you for everyone’s support we could not do what we do with the community support!!

We welcome Pat Murphy, residing on Frankfort Road, to the Waddy Fire District Board of Directors. Pat was appointed by Shelby County Judge Executive, Dan Ison.
