💜 BIG IMPACT. LIFE-SAVING REQUEST. 💜

Kitten Season is here, and we need YOUR help to save the most fragile lives once again! 🐱

A kitten’s best care always comes from its mother, but when that’s not possible, Kitten Care Kits empower good Samaritans to care for these tiny lives and keep them happy, healthy, and out of shelters.

🌟 Help us create 40 Kitten Care Kits for McLennan County! 🌟

2 Ways You Can Make a Difference:

🐾 Donate Supplies via Amazon Wishlist: ➡️ https://a.co/azg7ayL
Items ship directly to us!

🐾 Make a Monetary Donation: It costs about $45 to create one kit (thanks to bulk purchases and volunteer assembly), but ANY amount helps us buy essential supplies. Donate directly through our website here ➡️ https://www.animalbirthcontrol.org/donate
(Be sure to note "Kitten Kit" with your donation!)

We’re working to assemble these kits ASAP, and your contribution—whether a dollar or a donation of supplies—truly makes a difference. (All donations are tax-deductible.)

When you support the Animal Birth Control Clinic in helping our tiny feline friends, you SEE the impact of your generosity in action.

Thank you for helping us save lives this Kitten Season. Together, we can make a difference! 💜

Here at Tigger's Legacy, we believe all dogs are inherently good.
We love this information from the experts over at Animal Farm Foundation

When we focus on guesses and assumptions instead of actual facts, we end up with:

• ineffective laws and policies

• room for stereotypes, racism, and classism to dictate dog ownership and community diversity

• more dogs in shelters for a longer amount of time

what we mean when we say “all dogs are individuals".

A new thing for me, several months ago, I took a position with my local Low Cost Community Spay and Neuter Clinic called Animal Birth Control Clinic. I am so excited to be sharing the this prevention resource in our community. Robust SPAY & NEUTER Programs are the only way out of the overpopulation. It's also the only way to rescue and remove shelter killing.

Check out all the information by subscribing to our newsletter too. I promise you'll enjoy the reading.

World Kindness Day, celebrated on November 13, reminds us of the impact small acts of compassion can have on our communities.

One meaningful way to extend kindness is by caring for community cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR helps manage and stabilize cat populations humanely by preventing the birth of more kittens who may face hardship on the streets.

By spaying or neutering and returning these cats to their outdoor homes, we’re showing kindness that benefits both the cats and our neighborhoods, creating a more compassionate community for all.

YOU are the HEART of the Solution!

Happy National Cook For Your Pets Day 2024!
AND
Happy First Day of November!

Why Cook for Your Pets?

Cooking for your pets can be an incredibly fulfilling way to show them you care. By preparing meals at home, you have full control over the ingredients, ensuring that your pets get the highest quality, wholesome food without additives, fillers, or preservatives often found in commercial pet foods. Yucky fillers!!

It also allows you to cater to their specific dietary needs, from tailoring meals for food sensitivities to addressing age or health-related requirements. Not only does this strengthen your bond with them, but it also promotes their overall health, keeping them happy and active for years to come.

Check out this simple recipe:
Chicken and Sweet Potato Meal

Ingredients:

1 lb chicken breast, diced

1 cup sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/2 cup carrots, chopped

1/2 cup green beans, chopped

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

1. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the sweet potatoes and carrots. Cook for 10 minutes or until tender.

2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the diced chicken, cooking until fully done.

3. Once the vegetables are soft, add green beans and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

4. Mix the cooked chicken and vegetables together, let cool, and serve to your pet in appropriate portions.

This recipe provides a good balance of protein, fiber, and healthy fats. It’s easy to make and can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Always check with your veterinarian to ensure homemade meals meet your pet's specific nutritional needs.

HOWDY Y'ALL!
Check out these pet ownership stats from the American Veternarian Medical Association's Pet Ownership and Demographic Sourcebook of 2022!!

•Nearly half (45%) of U.S. households have dogs and 26% have cats, according to the AVMA 2022 Pet Ownership and Demographic Sourcebook.

•However, the affordability and availability of rental housing remain challenges for many people, including pet owners.

•About 72% of renters said pet-friendly housing is hard to find, and 59% said it’s too expensive, according to the 2021 Pet-Inclusive Housing Initiative (PIHI) Report.

•More data from the 2021 Pet-Inclusive Housing Report show that while 76% of property owners or operators say their properties are pet friendly, only 8% are free of all breed, weight, and amount of pet restrictions.
https://www.avma.org/news/steering-group-suggests-changes-more-pet-friendly-rental-housing.

➡️➡️Do you think these statistics have gotten worse?

What are you seeing? Is it harder to own a pet and be living in a rental?
Have you been impacted by new pet ownership rules where you live?

Please share your experiences in the comments below♡

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we must share the devastating news of our beloved puppy Lunch Box's passing earlier today. Despite the heroic efforts of his veterinary team, Lunch Box suffered a cardiac arrest during surgery and, tragically, could not be revived. We were heartbroken to learn that his tiny body was battling multiple genetic issues, which ultimately proved too much for him to overcome. In the 21 days we were blessed to have him, Lunch Box brought boundless joy and love into our lives and into the hearts of all who followed his journey on social media. He was more than just a pet; he was a little beacon of light that shone brightly, albeit briefly, in our lives. We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support from this wonderful community. Your kind words and thoughts have been a comfort to us during this incredibly tough time. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories of his playful spirit and loving nature will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you for loving our little Lunch Box. He will be profoundly missed.

Well it's surgery day. My Dog tor says that the surgery really may not work due to all the research he has done BUT feels I really need it to have the best quality of life I can have. I get my front leg pins today.

Dog tor also says I have inguinal hernias and I have non-clinical Hydrocephalus. This will have to be watched closely. Genetic thingys.
After my pins heal in about 3 weeks, dog tor will fix my things.

So I am a hot genetic mess!!!

Lots of wonky things...but I have a job to do. I get to spread LOVE and JOY around like glitter.

Keep spreading the word. Keep saying some positive energy words and a dash of prayers...

See y'all soon.
Love, Lunchie
