In just four weeks of school, our PreK friends have been working hard every day to practice our core values: being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. From helping clean up centers to using gentle hands and listening eyes, they showed us just how bright they shine! We are so proud of our little leaders ! 🎉

A massive shout-out to the Waco High School Football team for joining us at Brook Avenue Elementary yesterday morning! Seeing our students faces light up as you greeted them at the doors made the start of the school day so special. You all showed our students what leadership and community spirit look like.

And the celebration didn’t stop there—huge CONGRATULATIONS on bringing home the WIN last night! 🏆🎉 We couldn't be prouder to have such incredible role models on and off the field.

Big stories, bigger lessons! 📖✨ Our 3rd graders spent Friday identifying the main themes in our stories. From courage to kindness, they did an incredible job uncovering the heart behind the text! Proud of these deep thinkers! 👏🧠

🌟This week students learned about the Choose Love Movement with SEL Specialist Ms. Ramirez! Social and emotional learning (SEL) helps students learn and use the skills to understand emotions, show empathy, build healthy relationships, and make good choices.

The movement empowers people to choose love, courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion in action!

📏 **Measuring Champions in Mrs. West’s Class!** 📏

Yesterday, our amazing 2nd graders turned into math detectives! 🔍 We pulled out our tools and practiced measuring all around the room using meters and centimeters.

From desk edges to giant posters, our students were super focused on finding out how long or tall things were. Ask your 2nd grader today what they measured in class and see if they can show you how to measure something at home! ✏️📚✨

🎉 **Hands-On Math Magic in 4th Grade!** 🎉

Our 4th graders are taking their addition skills to the next level! Today, students worked alongside our Math Intervention Specialist to deepen their understanding of multi-digit addition.

Instead of just memorizing the steps, students used place value disks to visually build and bundle numbers step-by-step. By physically moving the disks across the place value chart, they could directly see why and how regrouping works when connecting their models to traditional vertical form.

Making math visible build strong foundation skills and confidence! Way to shine, 4th grade mathematicians! 🌟🔢

In her very first year here at Brook, this person has already made an incredible impact. She was chosen for this well-deserved honor because of her extraordinary work ethic and unwavering dedication. Even on the toughest days when balance isn't easy, she gives her absolute all to our students and school community.

This person is the definition of a true team player—she is always right where she needs to be, ready to step in and lend a helping hand with a smile. We are so lucky to have her on our team.
