MISSION: To reduce death/disability related to acute illness and injury by providing infrastructure and leadership necessary to sustain an inclusive acute care, trauma, emergency medical, and disaster system in all phases within our Trauma Service Area.

As a small RAC, partnerships are sometimes the most efficient way for us to advance the care available in our region. With everything that is required to have a strong pre-hospital whole blood program, joining a strong, established system was an easy decision!

HOTRAC is proud to announce our 18th annual Heart of Texas EMS Memorial. We will be adding three names to our plaques this year: Steve Kroll, Waco Fire Department (LODD); Bryan Crane, CareFlite (In honor of dedication and sacrifice to a life serving in EMS); and Kevin Chupik, West EMS (In honor of dedication and sacrifice to a life serving in EMS).

The public is invited to join us at 11:30 AM on May 20, 2026, as we honor not only these individuals but the others who have passed before them as well.

Due to the potential for rain, this year's memorial will be held at Elliston Chapel on the Baylor University campus. If you plan to attend, please park in the East Campus Parking Garage near the chapel.

's Vince Erickson spoke with Chris Meyer, from the Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Council, about Stop The Bleed and how it's preparing our communities to be the first line of defense.

Today marks 13 years since the tragic West Fertilizer Explosion.

HOTRAC hosts the Heart of Texas EMS Memorial in May each year to honor fire and EMS line of duty deaths, I clueing the men lost in West, as well as those who have passed that had a major impact or dedicated their lives to emergency response in our area.

Prayers of peace and comfort to not only those in West affected by the explosion and its aftermath, but also to all those reminded of a loss they suffered.

Our Executive Director, Chris Meyer, is attending the South Texas Comprehensive Healthcare Symposium hosted by TRAC-V. There are over 200 people registered to attend this two event held on South Padre Island.

HOTRAC will be hosting an education symposium in August 2026 and is attending other successful symposiums to get ideas of how to make our symposium a desirable event to attend.
