Housing Action of Wabash County (HAWC), Advantage Housing, Inc., the City of Wabash, and BlissPoint Inn collaborated to provided transitional housing starting in 2024 for families and individuals in Wabash County who are experiencing homelessness. Mayor Scott Long and the City of Wabash contributed one-third of the funding – $15,000 – for three rooms to be leased annually at BlissPoint Inn last year and have done so again in 2025.

With these leased rooms the partnership of HAWC, Advantage Housing, the City of Wabash, and BlissPoint provide transitional stays and case management to work through client barriers and get clients connected to other nonprofits and resources in our community.

Homeless count happening today!

Reminder Today is the day for the Homeless count. Where did they sleep the night of 1/29/25? Is the question we will be asking today.

Today we count individuals and families that are sleeping in a place not met for habitation, or hotel paid by an organization. We have four locations for check in, Bowen Health, Habitat for Humanity, Advantage Housing/ HAWC (9 am to 4 PM) and North Manchester location is Walnut Street Church all from 10 am to 3 PM. Other places that volunteers will be today, Library, YMCA, Modoc's and the BlissPoint Inn (Wabash) and Keyhole Pizza (N. Manchester).
We have care packages while they last. (limited 1 per family)

If you know of someone that is in need of housing today, please encourage them to go to one of the locations to be counted. This will not only let the state know of the need here in Wabash County but it will also get an official count for our local government.

We are so excited to replenish the Salvation Army funds in Wabash County. Thank you to our community!

The Salvaltion Army of Wabash County raised over $3,000 in 2024 for individuals and families in need. A big thank you to all our volunteers who rang the bell, the local businesses who hosted kettles and collections jars, and everyone who donated. What a wonderful gift, doing the most good in Wabash County!

We are THRILLED to announce that Wabash County has been named as a Stellar Pathways designee by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) !

This designation and the opportunity to receive up to $7 million in funding will be an exciting and important milestone for many projects aimed at improving quality of life in Wabash County.

We are humbled to know that OCRA shares our vision for a more prosperous Wabash County and we are excited to engage our entire Wabash County community in the next steps to put these plans into action!
