With pool season approaching, we taught hundreds of Voorhees kindergarteners vital lessons about water safety - and had a blast doing it!
Our club visited four schools (ET Hamilton, Osage, Signal Hill, and Kresson) and read Josh the Otter, a book that emphasizes the importance of learning to float and always swimming with an adult and buddy.
Both the students and we enjoyed learning about this important subject, especially because Josh, a puppet (don't tell the kids) visited each school, answered the students' questions (about his diet, home life, etc.) and provided endless high-fives.
Thank you to the schools, volunteers, and club members that made this possible.

Our club continues the support of Cathedral Kitchen's Culinary Arts Training Program.
This program is a 15 week course which prepares unemployed, underemployed, at-risk, and low-income Camden residents for professional success and economic independence.
Over 85% of graduates are employed within three months of graduation.
Current club president, Sue Bromley, presents an award to a student that was recognized by their teachers as someone that went above and beyond.
Congratulations to all the graduates!

It’s not our trash but it is our environment.

Our club completed the first of three planned trash cleanups on county roads in our community.

Today our group, consisting of members of the club and Interact Club volunteers from Eastern HS, cleaned up a mile stretch of Gibbsboro Rd.
If you would like to join us for the next clean up, leave a comment or message the club directly.

Our club continues to support the For The Kids program, providing healthy snacks to Osage Elementary teachers to be given to students in need.

According to USDA data, 81% of households with children in the United States were food insecure throughout 2024.

Even though New Jersey ranks low amongst other states when it comes to the prevalence of food insecurity, there is still a growing need for healthy snacks in our schools.

Robert Cranmer, Auda Aquino, Lisa Morgan, Brianne Nunan, and Craig Petitdemange of Osage Elementary pose with healthy snack bars provided by our club and its supporters.

If you would like to learn more about how you can help relieve food insecurity in our backyard, please reach out to the club or email us at [email protected].

Do you have books laying around your house, taking up space?
Those books could be used to promote childhood literacy, inspire readers, support educators, and strengthen communities.
The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club and BookSmiles have teamed up to collect gently used books.
From now until April 30th, you can donate your books in a collection bin located at the ground level entrance to the Voorhees Town Hall.
Thank you in advance for your support.
