City of Von Ormy Von Ormy is one of the newest cities in Texas, and is a growing, vibrant city located in the heart of South Texas.

City is named after Prussian Count Norbert Von Ormay who moved his court to our community in the 1880's.

Battle of Medina Historical Festival
FREE PARKING FREE ENTRY
The City of Von Ormy, the Alamo RV Park and the Battle of Medina Historical Society invite you to attend the reenactment of the biggest and bloodiest battle ever fought on Texas soil; the Battle of Medina. This battle would be the first attempt of the inhabitants of Texas to free themselves from the clutches of tyranny. This is an educational and historical event, teachers bring your students!
There will be a rehearsal on Saturday Oct 21 at 10 AM at the park and also on the day of the event at 10 AM.
The reenactment will take place at 1 PM on Saturday October 28 at the RV Park located at 12430 Trawalter Lane in Von Ormy, Texas. The gates will open at 11 AM and there will be food trucks, arts and crafts, music and more.
The park is located off of Benton City Road in between Loop 410 and Loop 1604 right off of IH 35 past down town San Antonio Exit onto Benton City Road Turn left on Quintanna Road which takes you to Trawalter where you turn right on to Trawalter. The park is at the end of Trawalter. Look for the sign that says ALAMO RV Park. The park is less than one mile from IH 35.
Reenactors , including women and children in period attire, will receive two free nights at the camping facilities, so bring your tents or RV and camp out on the banks of the beautiful Medina River. Reenactors may also bring horses and fishing gear. Genealogy and Historical Societies are also encouraged to bring a table. A tent for Vendors and Societies will be available.

Von Ormy residents in need of shelter from Hurricane Harvey should proceed to the Somerset Community Center located at 19375 K Street in Somerset, Texas. A City Public Works crew is on standby to keep city roadways clear. Due to the severity of the storm, the crew will be working only when it is safe to work. To report a tree or other debris on a roadway within the City of Von Ormy, please call the city at 210-622-9935. Extensive flooding is expected, including known flood prone crossings along Benton City Road, Quintana Road and I-35 access roads.
Please be safe and stay off the roads if at all possible.
