The Dakota Free press did a pretty good job of summarizing these 2 bills that I am the prime sponsor of. One way or another we need to cure South Dakota's addiction to the $ from video lottery. This particular form of gambling is so highly addictive its often called the "crack cocaine of gambling". It's wrong for our state to promote an addiction just so it can skim $ from the losses of the weak and vulnerable when those are the very people that government should be protecting. Our 30 year experiment with video lottery has failed us. It's left scars in every town and in thousands of families. Its time to stop! These 2 bills could be the beginning.
