What a GREAT night at the Visalia Rawhide game! ⚾🦁

Kiwanis Division 18 was proud to be the major sponsor for an evening filled with baseball, service, fun, and plenty of Kiwanis spirit! 💙💛

We had an incredible turnout from Key Club, with members blanketing the stands and selling nearly $800 worth of 50/50 tickets! 🎟️🙌 Key Club will get to use their half of the proceeds to help fund an upcoming rally!

Meanwhile, the “adult” Kiwanis club members enjoyed the game and kept the fun going with several rounds of BINGO! 😂

West Visalia Kiwanis President and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Martin Abbiss, along with current Lieutenant Governor Janelle Howard, were also interviewed in front of the crowd, sharing more about Kiwanis, Key Club, and the exciting events coming up! 🎤

And as if the night couldn’t get any better… OUR RAWHIDE WON 6–2!!! 🎉⚾🐂👑

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable evening! 💙💛

💜 Supporting a Great Cause! 💜

We were honored to welcome Amy Avila and Grady Dodson, Director of Family Services of Tulare County, to our meeting!

Our club, along with Patrick Salazar, State Farm Agent, was proud to make a donation toward the upcoming Purple Party—an event supporting the important work of Family Services of Tulare County.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and support an organization making a difference in our community! 💜🙌

We were honored to welcome Bruce Kane from the Visalia Rescue Mission to share an update on the incredible work being done to support individuals and families in our community. ❤️

Through our Community Services program, led by Ming Li, we were proud to provide the Rescue Mission with a donation to help continue this important work.

A few highlights from Bruce’s presentation really stood out:

🏠 The Rescue Mission operates on approximately $6 million each year to sustain its shelters and programs.

💙 While corporate sponsorships have increased, smaller individual donations are declining as many families face economic challenges.

☀️ The shelters are currently housing 125 people, including 75 men, while only 55 beds are available for men. With the extreme heat, some individuals are unfortunately sleeping on the floor.

🤝 An enhanced case management program is helping people move toward long-term stability. So far this year, 11 individuals have been placed into secure, ongoing housing along with employment and recovery support.

💰 The Rescue Mission is 100% donor-funded and receives no government assistance, making community support essential to keeping these programs running.

We’re grateful to Bruce for sharing the mission’s needs and the positive impact they’re making right here in our community. Together, we can make a difference! ❤️

🐷💙 Today’s meeting was one to remember as we welcomed Addysen from the Redwood Future Farmers of America (FFA)!

Addysen has a heart for animals and dreams of becoming a veterinarian someday. Until then, she’s gaining hands-on experience learning how to care for livestock and preparing her pig, Little Beef, for the Tulare County Fair this September. 🐖🌾

It takes dedication, responsibility, and a lot of hard work to raise an animal, and Addysen is a wonderful example of the incredible young leaders in our community.

We were honored to support her journey with a donation to help provide supplies for anything Little Beef may need before fair time. We can’t wait to cheer them both on in September!

This Thursday, we had the privilege of recognizing the Central Valley Vietnam Veterans for their continued support and dedication to our annual fireworks booth. We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to serve our community time and time again.

We also had the honor of presenting Carol with the Wainright Award in recognition of her unwavering commitment to Key Club and her passion for mentoring and inspiring the next generation of leaders. Her dedication to our youth truly makes a lasting impact.
