America Graduates with Club Kids & Staff 🎓

Today, we proudly celebrate the graduates of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias. From high school diplomas to college degrees, these Club members and staff prove that with support, determination, and opportunity, anything is possible.

Congratulations to our Club Kids!

Elizabeth plans to attend College of the Sequoias to complete her nursing prerequisites before transferring to a four-year university. Although she has been part of the Tulare Club for just two months, she shared that her favorite part was spending time with everyone because it felt like family.

Gabriel has been a member of the Tulare Club for more than four years. While he’s keeping his next steps a secret for now, he shared that one lesson he will carry into adulthood is the importance of being patient and kind. Gabriel said his time at the Club taught him that everything in life takes time, and growth comes with patience.

Isaac plans to attend COS and major in nursing. He hopes to transfer to a university and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The Woodlake Boys & Girls Club inspired him to help others and make a positive difference in his community.

Nelly plans to attend college and pursue a career as a kindergarten teacher. The Woodlake Boys & Girls Club encouraged her to continue on this path while helping her gain experience for her future career.

Allan from the Woodlake Boys & Girls Club shares a simple but powerful message for future seniors: “Never give up!”

Congratulations to our Staff Members!

Victoria earned her Associate’s Degree in Animal Science from College of the Sequoias (COS) and is transferring to Fresno State. She shared that her Club members were one of her biggest sources of support and motivation.

Her advice: “Don’t be afraid to outgrow people, places, or routines that no longer help you grow. Keep trying new things—your passion might come from somewhere unexpected.”

Alberto graduated from Porterville College with a degree in History. He has always been fascinated by the past, from the Big Bang to the Roman Empire. He encourages teens to stay at their own pace and take advantage of every opportunity. Alberto shared that his family has been his biggest supporter, especially as the first in his family to earn a college degree.

Darean graduated from Fresno State with a degree in Liberal Studies and hopes to become an elementary school teacher. He encourages teens to pursue what makes them happy and never give up on their goals. He also expressed gratitude to his girlfriend for her support.

We are incredibly proud of each of these graduates and look forward to the impact they will make in their communities and beyond. Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🎓✨

🏛️ Hanford Club Members Present at the Hanford Parks & Recreation Commission 🏛️

Members from our Hanford Club presented at a Hanford Parks & Recreation Commission meeting to learn firsthand about the events, issues, and decisions impacting their community.

During the meeting, members had the opportunity to speak with commissioners about the Days of Advocacy event they participated in and share the programs and activities they enjoy at the Club. 💙

Through this experience, members learned how issues are brought before local leaders, how community decision-making works, and what it takes to speak confidently in front of a group while advocating for their community. ✨

💬 “Something I took away from the meeting was how issues get brought up to city officials.” — Bella, 16

💬 “It stood out to me that the members don’t pass up after-school programs and generally care about their importance just like the rest of the members and staff of BGC.” — Mia, 15

We are proud of our youth for using their voices, representing their Club, and becoming engaged community leaders!

🌸 Mother’s Day at the Tulare Club 🌸

Our Keystone Teens stepped up to guide younger Club members through a special Mother’s Day project designed to honor and appreciate the important women in their lives.

Through this hands-on activity, teens learned the value of mentoring younger youth and how meaningful projects can help strengthen our Club community as a whole. Creating opportunities like these not only builds leadership skills, but also reminds us how important it is to celebrate and reward the amazing women in our world 🌷

We are so proud of our teens for leading with kindness, creativity, and heart! 💙

🌟 Serve Corps: Teens Making a Difference 🌟

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias, our Serve Corps is all about giving back, building skills, and strengthening community. 💙

Throughout the school year, nearly 50 teens (ages 11–18) at our Woodlake Club are stepping up to serve—whether they’re assembling food boxes for families 🥫, tutoring younger members 📚, walking dogs at local shelters 🐾, or helping seniors with yard work 🌿. Most recently, they volunteered at a community-wide event, where they ran a fun arts-and-crafts station for kids 🎨.

These projects—planned and led by our staff—give teens the chance to get out into the community, try new things, and make a real impact. And the best part? They love it! 💙 What starts as volunteering quickly becomes a meaningful, positive experience that keeps them coming back.

Through Serve Corps, our teens are developing responsibility, professionalism, teamwork, leadership, and job-readiness skills that will stay with them for life.

🌟 Empowering Youth. Supporting Families. Building Stronger Futures. 🌟

At the Tulare Boys & Girls Club, our members are participating in the Friday Night Live (FNL) program, a Tulare County partnership, to help spread awareness and encourage teens to make healthy choices by saying NO to cannabis. Through leadership, peer support, and education, our youth are learning they have the power to walk away, speak up, and seek help when they need it.

This campaign also includes our “We Got This” pledges — one for youth and one for parents — reminding families that prevention starts with open conversations, support, and community.

“Watching teens grow into confident leaders through FNL is one of the most rewarding parts of being a staff member since we started the program here at the club.” — Victoria Munoz

Together, we can empower our youth to make positive choices and create a safe, healthy future for everyone. 💙

This class is designed to help youth build confidence, discover a love for music, and learn skills that can inspire them to continue playing on their own. If you’re a youth in the Ivanhoe area interested in learning guitar this summer, we encourage you to join us! 🌟🎸

🌟🎶 Meet Ivanhoe Boys & Girls Club Director — Ismael “Mikey” Rojas! 🎶🌟

After faithfully serving as Interim Director, we’re excited to officially welcome Mikey as the Director of the Ivanhoe Boys & Girls Club! 💙🙌 His passion for youth, music, and building strong relationships continues to make a positive impact on our Club and community each day.

When asked what he would build with the kids if there were no limits, Mikey said:
✨ “The largest Boys & Girls Club facility in America!” ✨

If he could instantly give every kid one skill, his answer was:
💙 “To be more loving and compassionate for one another.” 💙

One song he believes every kid should hear at least once? 🎵
🎸 Reckless Love by Cory Asbury

When it comes to guitars, Mikey prefers the acoustic guitar because it helps strengthen your fingers, build calluses, and can be played anywhere without needing an amp! 🎸🔥

Most importantly, Mikey hopes every child who comes through the Club leaves with fun memories, meaningful experiences, and a desire to give back and share with others one day. 🌟

👏💙 Congratulations, Mikey! We’re excited for this next chapter and grateful for your leadership at the Ivanhoe Boys & Girls Club!

🌎✨ Earth Day Teen Community Project ✨🌎

Our Tulare Club teens took part in a park clean-up project, learning the importance of caring for their environment and community.

They discovered how litter affects wildlife, public spaces, and community health, while building teamwork, leadership, and a sense of pride in making a difference.

💬 Victoria, Serve Prep Coordinator, shared:
“Seeing the teens take initiative and work together to clean up the park showed how much they care about their community. It was a powerful and inspiring experience.”

Small actions. Big impact. Stronger communities. 🌱
