Registration is now open!

Come out and support Veterans while playing golf and having a great time at our 4th Annual tournament.

We must be doing something right. For the past three years we have drawn more than 100 players at each tournament.

Alan Callanan, CSM, US Army (Ret), passed away in the hospital yesterday due to a medical condition. Alan was surrounded by family members at the time of his passing.

Alan was an active Lifetime Member of VFW Post 8071, as well as several other Veteran organizations. Whether working at a post event, placing wreaths at the Veterans cemetery, or working with a Gold Star family, Alan embodied the VFW mission of “Serving Veterans and Community.” Alan will be missed by many.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Details regarding any memorial services will follow.

SALUTE WHILE YOU STRIDE EVENT SET FOR MEMORIAL DAY!

The Virginia City High School's National Honor Society is set to host the first Salute While You Stride Run/Walk on Memorial Day -- with their proceeds set to be donated to the general fund of Post 8071. Registration has been slow but with the annual Gun Raffle concluded, we trust our Post can display our support of the students with numerous registrations. If you'd like to volunteer at the event, please call the listed number. If you are busy or traveling this Memorial Day, perhaps you could still show your support of the hard-working students by still registering for the event and essentially donating to their worthwhile cause!

SALUTE WHILE YOU STRIDE RUN/WALK SET FOR MAY 25!

The National Honor Society students at Virginia City are eager to support our VFW Post 8071 this Memorial Day by hosting the first Salute While You Stride Run/Walk on May 25! The funds generated from the event are set to be contributed to VFW Post 8071. Please distro the info on the event to all of your family and friends and encourage participation! Of course, our VFW Post comrades are welcome to participate in the event, but the students could really use assistance in the form of support personnel, including course safety officials, start/finish line support and refreshment distribution personnel. If you can volunteer to support the event, please write to Kim Hames at [email protected]. For general information, call VFW Post comrade Erick Studenicka at 775-720-9570; he is the post's liaison to the event!
