🚲E-Bikes at Landstown High
In accordance with VBCPS Policy 7-57, electronic-powered bicycles and other motorized devices may not be operated or used on school property, buses, or grounds without prior approval from the building administrator or designee. This prohibition also includes, but is not limited to, mopeds, motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, golf carts, low-speed vehicles, battery-operated ride-on vehicles, and similar devices. Additionally, all Virginia Laws and Local Virginia Beach Rules must be followed.
Families of students who wish to use an electronic-powered bicycle (e-bike) on school grounds must complete the E-Bike Request Form to request authorization. Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee approval.
See News from the Nest, emailed on Saturday, August 22 for a copy of the E-Bike Request Form.
If approval is granted, students must follow these expectations along with all Virginia Beach City Code:
A LHS decal must be displayed at all times on school grounds.
E-bikes must be parked and secured at a bike rack located at the front or back of the building.
E-bikes may not be operated on the grass, sidewalks, or bus loop.
Excessive speed, dangerous maneuvers, or reckless operation are prohibited.
Students must follow all school safety procedures and staff directions regarding e-bike use.
E-bike riders 14 or younger must always wear a helmet; for Class 3 e-bikes, the state law applies for all riders and passengers.
Failure to follow these expectations may result in the school revoking the student's e-bike approval.
