We lost three U.S. troops, and five more are fighting through severe injuries.

Three families woke up to a knock on the door that changes everything.
Five more are sitting in hospital rooms, holding hands, praying for miracles, waiting for updates, trying to be strong.

And behind those numbers are names.
Faces.
Families whose worlds just shattered in a single moment.

Somewhere, a phone rang and life was split into “before” and “after.”
Somewhere, a mother felt her heart sink before she even heard the words.
Somewhere, a spouse is trying to stay strong while silently falling apart.
Somewhere, children are waiting for a hero who won’t be walking through the door the same way again… or at all.

This isn’t just news.
This is sacrifice.
This is love.
This is the unbearable weight military families carry every single day while the rest of us go on with normal life.

They live with constant worry.
Missed birthdays.
Empty seats at the dinner table.
Sleepless nights praying their loved one makes it home safely.

My heart aches deeply.
For the soldiers who gave everything.
For the wounded who are fighting to recover.
For the families who serve just as much, quietly and faithfully, in the background.

Because when one service member is hurt or lost, an entire family carries that wound forever.

Praying with a heavy heart for every military member and their families. For protection over those still serving, healing for the wounded, and comfort for the grieving.
You are not forgotten.
You are not unseen.
And your sacrifice will never be taken lightly.

Heavenly Father,

We come to You today lifting up our American troops who are at war in Iran. They are in dangerous situations, facing real threats, and carrying heavy responsibility.

Lord, protect them.
Place Your hand over them in every operation, every movement, and every moment of uncertainty. Shield them from harm. Give them alert minds, steady hands, and sound judgment under pressure.

Strengthen them physically and mentally. When fear rises, give them courage. When exhaustion sets in, give them endurance. When they feel isolated, remind them they are not alone.

Be with their families back home. Calm their fears. Give them peace as they wait and pray. Surround them with support and comfort.

Guide the leaders making decisions that impact these lives. Grant wisdom, clarity, and restraint.

We ask for protection.
We ask for strength.
We ask for safe return.

Bring our troops home safely, Lord.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus met people right where they were, often around a table.
