In celebration of National Intern Day, we're taking a moment to highlight an incredible experience some of our interns enjoyed earlier this week, a sunset cruise through Norfolk, courtesy of the Hampton Roads Workforce Council’s Summer757 Event Series.

Last Friday, the City of Virginia Beach Human Resources Department hosted our Intern Kickoff Social to welcome the largest group of interns in the history of our program to their Summer 2025 internship experience!
During the event, we heard inspiring remarks from City leadership, enjoyed refreshing icy treats, and guided interns through a vision board activity to help them set meaningful goals for the summer. We also had the opportunity to learn more about the wide range of internship placements taking place across the organization.

This summer, the City of Virginia Beach is proud to host 39 paid interns across 11 departments, including Engineering, Agriculture, Budget Management, Information Technology, and more.

We wish each of them a rewarding and impactful internship and can’t wait to see all they accomplish!
