Virden Public Library District At the Virden Public Library District, we believe every day is an adventure waiting to be explored. Come for the books, stay for the community!

We have some great services for our patrons at the library. Some are old and some are new. We have Share Polaris Library System over 500 libraries.

We have a bigger selection of books, audio books, DVD's, videos and magazines to check out. We have e-books available for your iPad, Kindle, Nook or e-reader through the Cloud Library app. This is a FREE

app. We’ll be glad to help you set it up. We have 6 computers with internet access for public use. We have free Wi-Fi available. We have a new color copier, printer, scanner and fax all in one. Price List: Black & White Copies $.10 each

We have the Virden Recorder newspapers on microfilm. We have Ancestrylibrary.com for our genealogists. We also have a notary public and a deputy registrar to sign up new voters or change addresses for voters. Every year we have a summer reading program for our young readers, ages 12 years and under. We also have a movie night to follow the summer reading program for all the participants who complete his or hers reading logs. We have an annual book sale in September in our library with the proceeds going towards purchasing new books for our patrons.

-If we don't have a book you're looking for in our library, we can order/place a hold for you. We will be more than happy to help you find what you're looking for. Come check us out.
