The 9th annual Vinita Fraternal Order of Police Cops & Kids Shopping Event was held on Sunday, December 3, 2025. Similar to previous years, the event was a success! We had a blast Christmas shopping with the kiddos from the Vinita area. This event continues to provide a valuable opportunity for our officers to bond with the upcoming community members we serve.

To the parents, THANK YOU for allowing us to spend this time with your children!

To the community, THANK YOU for allowing this event to happen through your continued sponsorship!

TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING SUSPICIOUS DEATH IN VINITA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEPTEMBER 24, 2025

VINITA, OK – On September 22, 2025, the Vinita Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a suspicious death.

That morning, Vinita Police officers responded to a property along South Foreman Street in Vinita. When officers arrived on scene, an adult male victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who determined the victim suffered injuries consistent with homicide.

Based on this information and the evidence gathered from the scene, OSBI special agents identified two suspects as 43-year-old Renee Carpenter and 38-year-old Jacob Bailey. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Craig County Jail on a Second-Degree Murder complaint.

The investigation will be provided to the Craig County District Attorney’s Office, who will determine official charges.

The OSBI appreciates the Vinita Police Department, Craig County Sheriff's Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for their continued assistance with this investigation.
