These burials also flow over the line into Alabama. These are near the very villages of chief dragging canoe and further date back to the woodland and Mississippian periods on artifacts that were tested from this site.

Developers proposing a $30 million RV resort with 250 to 400 spaces on the Tennessee River and the family that has owned the land since 1970 contend the project will be good for the community and could bring in an estimated $1 million a year in hospitality tax revenue.

Status Update at Hightown Path:
HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?
With the recent on again off again rain, the garden we have begun has done wonderfully. Items are 3 types of onions, cabbage, 4 types of lettuce, spinach, kale and brussel sprouts. More planting will be done in the next few weeks when it is peak season for many other veggies....
Recently, we have had some issues with a critter eating some leaves. Baby rabbits can get to things big rabbits cannot and it may be a raccoon......We sought out some "old timer" experts and we began trying their remedies....looks like good ole advice is the key.
I will share the advice they gave. You may try these as well:
1. Cayenne Pepper sprinkled all over the plants and around the areas---(works GREAT!). Be sure to wash thoroughly when harvesting and add more after rains.
2. Human urine around the perameter keeps most animals away when they smell the human scent...have fun men. Seems to be working.
3. Human hair spread around in and around the garden area also allows animals to smell the human scent. Hair is protein and it is good for your flower beds as well.....those pesky rabbits and armadillas!!!!! You can obtain cut hair at salons who collect it in special vacuums to make it easier for you.

You should also be noticing all the wildlife coming to life. We have several bluebirds taking up residence in their new bluebird houses; many bright cardinals; cow birds; ravens; chickadees; wrens, doves, sparrows; woodpeckers and many more. Having heard the geese returning a few weeks or so back-out went the juice for them. This weekend, we have three that have made it back to us. Love our hummingbirds.

Here are some updated pictures of our garden. I will post a video of our special guest who lives with us.....
