Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, friends, and communities forever changed that day.

We honor the 343 members of the FDNY, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the attacks. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to serving others will never be forgotten.

We also remember the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and ordinary citizens who answered the call to help in the days and years that followed.

As firefighters and volunteers, we carry their legacy with us every time we answer an alarm and serve our community.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🕯️ 25 years ago tonight...
✈️ 246 people went to sleep, ready to wake up and catch their morning flights.
🏢 2,606 people went to sleep, expecting to get up and go to work the next morning.
🚒 343 firefighters went to sleep, preparing for their morning shift.
👮 60 police officers went to sleep, preparing for another day of patrol.
🚑 8 paramedics went to sleep, preparing for another shift caring for others.
😴 They all went to sleep expecting tomorrow to be an ordinary day.
None of them knew they would never see 10am on 11 September 2001.
💔 In a single morning, thousands of lives were lost and countless others were changed forever.
For those who went to sleep that night, tomorrow was simply tomorrow.
For their families, friends and colleagues, tomorrow became a day they would never forget.
❤️ As you go to sleep tonight, take a moment to appreciate the people around you.
💋 Kiss the ones you love.
🤗 Hold them a little tighter.
❤️ Tell them what they mean to you.
🙏 Don't take a single moment for granted.
Because sometimes, the ordinary moments we barely notice become the moments we wish we could have back.
⏳ Tomorrow is never guaranteed.
🕯️ Tonight, we remember those who went to sleep 25 years ago, never knowing they would not wake to the life they had planned.
🇺🇸🕊️ Never forgotten.

Over the last week, members completed annual driver competency objectives including parallel parking of the apparatus, alley back, serpentine, lane change and the diminishing straightaway. The apparatus is only useful if it arrives in one piece.

Today is Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, and we're honoring the dedicated men and women who selflessly serve their communities.

Volunteer firefighters respond to emergencies at all hours, train year-round, and sacrifice time with their families to help others when they're needed most.

To every volunteer firefighter across the country: thank you for your courage, your commitment, and everything you do to keep your communities safe.

Tonight as part of our training, members took advantage of an acquired structure to practice ladder placement, roof ventilation techniques along with hose line deployment. Training at acquired structures is performed in coordination with the Vineland Fire Department training division.
