Students in Miss Soto and Mrs. Lee’s ELA classes participated in a Starbooks Cafe Book Tasting to sample different genres of books. Students were able to sample genres such as mystery, historical fiction, graphic novels, nonfiction, and more. Afterwards, students wrote a book review of their favorite or least favorite selection. Students ended their time at the Starbooks Cafe with a yummy drink of their choice, iced coffee (chocolate milk) or lemonade.

🏆🦉 TEAM SPIRIT DAY at Rossi! 🦉🏆

Today we celebrated Team Spirit as we kicked off our first W.I.S.E. Spirit Day of the school year! Our Rossi Owls showed up in their favorite team gear, Rossi gear, and plenty of school spirit as we came together as ONE TEAM! 💙🤍

Today also marked the beginning of our first Portrait of a Graduate competency: RESPONSIBILITY. We are challenging our students to think about what it means to be responsible for themselves, their learning, their choices, and their team. 🌟

From cheering each other on to showing pride in our school community, today was all about remembering that everyone has an important role to play on Team Rossi! 🦉💪

Let’s keep that spirit going, Owls! W.I.S.E. choices. Strong teams. Great futures! ⭐🏆

WISE Kickoff Celebration!
On Wednesday, September 9th, our Rossi Owls kicked off the school year with our WISE Character Education Celebration! What a wonderful way to begin a year focused on kindness, responsibility, perseverance, and becoming the very best versions of ourselves!
We introduced our WISE Character Education Program, reviewed all of our character traits, and proudly unveiled our beautiful new mint WISE shirts! A very special thank-you goes to Allen Associates for their generous donation that helped make our new shirts possible. We are so grateful for your support of our Rossi Owls!

Our wonderful WISE Student Ambassadors, Jada Loatman and Lenny Consalo, presented a slideshow explaining what it truly means to be WISE and how we can demonstrate our character traits each and every day. They also reminded us of the importance of striving to be the best version of ourselves!

Mila Bermudez reviewed some of the WISE traits we will be focusing on throughout the school year and helped get everyone excited about the character journey ahead!

Our September WISE Superhero is Evie Parsons and her service dog, Honey!

Honey will be coming to school with Evie each day to help monitor her diabetes. Nurse Deanna Elliott introduced Honey and Evie to the student body! At our kickoff, we discussed how RESPONSIBILITY will be an important character trait for our entire student body as we help Honey do her very important job successfully.

We are so proud of our Rossi Owls and the way they came together to learn, support one another, and begin the year with such enthusiasm!

Great job, Rossi Owls! Let’s show RESPONSIBILITY this month—and every month!

🎶🎻 Music is in the air at Rossi! 🎺🎶

Today, our 4th and 5th grade Rossi Owls had the opportunity to learn more about Band & Strings and the exciting opportunity to start—or continue—their musical journey this year! We loved seeing our students explore the instruments, learn about the different options, and imagine themselves becoming part of our Rossi music family. 🦉🎶

🎵 Interested in joining? Please take your child to Landis School on Tuesday, September 15, from 6:30–8:30 PM if they would like to sign up to play an instrument this year!

A very special shout-out to Ms. Allen and Mrs. T for all of your hard work and dedication in bringing music and these incredible opportunities to our students. Your passion helps our Owls discover talents, try something new, and find their own way to shine! 🌟

📣 Attendance Matters at Rossi! 🦉

Today we kicked off our Attendance Challenge with our Rossi Owls, and our students are already roaring with excitement!

Our first challenge of the year is officially underway! Each class is a team, and over the next couple of months, they’ll compete to see who can make it to the playoffs and, ultimately, become our Attendance Champions! 🏆

Parents and guardians, we need your help! Please remember how important it is for our students to be at school and on time every day. Every day in school is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect with friends, and be part of our Rossi family.

We want to see them EVERY day! ❤️

🐴🦉 Fun Friday with our Rossi Owls! 🦉🐴

What a way to start the day! Our Owls were in for a BIG surprise this morning when the New Jersey State Police Mounted Operations Unit greeted them as they arrived at school!

There were smiles, excitement, and lots of happy faces as our students got to see the horses up close. What a special way to welcome our Owls and kick off our first Fun Friday of the school year! 💙

A huge thank you to the NJ State Police Mounted Operations Unit for making our morning so memorable, and a special thank you to Mrs. Bellamy for organizing this amazing surprise for our very first Fun Friday! 🐴💙
