Our 4th graders in Mrs. Dever’s language arts classes recently celebrated a very special milestone—a Publishing Party! 🎉📚

Students worked incredibly hard on their spring descriptive writing pieces, bringing their stories to life with vivid sensory details and creative figurative language. To celebrate their accomplishments, parents were invited to attend the party, some of the author's purchased a published copy of their book that they received, an official Author Certificate, and a special goody bag filled with encouraging notes from family and loved ones. ❤️

The celebration continued as students proudly shared their writing with friends and family before signing one another’s books like real published authors! ✍️📖

It was a wonderful way to recognize all of the growth, creativity, and hard work our students have shown throughout the year. We are so proud of our talented young writers! 🌟🐬

Two weeks ago, a Maple Shade 12 year old, Xavier Taylor, was critically injured after being struck in the neck during baseball warm ups. He remains at Cooper University Hospital.

Many local communities are rallying around Xavier and praying he progresses. This was a terrible accident that could've happened to anyone's child. On Friday, some of our Durand Fam sported blue in honor of Xavier and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this most traumatic time and we are hoping for the most positive outcome. 💙🫶

Our last attendance challenge for the school year! The classroom with the highest attendance percentage for June will receive an ice cream party! Let's finish this school year strong.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for our 47th Annual Durand Run.

Our 2nd-5th graders ran 2.5 miles around our track & school to compete for this years title.

Fifth grader Neftali Santiago came in 1st place overall, for the 2nd consecutive year. Fifth grader Emma Hernandez won first female finisher, and 5th place overall. Many of the students are already talking about taking the win next year!!

Special thanks to 3rd grade teacher Mr. Kiel for the inflatable finish line, Vineland Police Dept, Vineland EMS and Fire Dept.for ensuring all of our safety during the run, and our gym teacher Mr. Appleby for organizing this event every year! 🏃‍♂️🏆🐬
