ROAD REPAIRS

UPDATE:
This construction has been pushed back to start on or about September 01, 2026 and completion is scheduled for September 18th.

Beginning on or around 09/01/2026 construction will start on the Willow Street exit off Highway 41 southbound. This construction will be for widening on both sides of the exit ramp to accommodate larger vehicles and make the turning movement more accessible. On the exit you can expect a shift to either the left or the right of the ramp depending on which side construction is taking place, there will be advanced warning signs on Highway 41 as well. On willow street the right lane will be closed traveling North headed back into Vincennes. This construction will end on or around 09/18/2026 weather pending.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office administration office will be closed on Monday, September 07, 2026, in observance of Labor Day. The office will reopen at 8:00 on Tuesday. Our road deputies and jail officers will be at work as usual.

Your Knox County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone that our deputies will be out this weekend looking for impaired drivers as well as enforcing seatbelt and hands-free devise regulations and aggressive driving.

Knox County, IN Sheriff’s Office Court paper service for August resulted in 231 subpoenas served and 33 Protective Orders served.
The Jail population on September 1, 2026, is 250 inmates.
200 males and 50 females.

Congratulations to our new jail officers for completing their Basic Jail Officer Training that covered Physical Tactics, and fi****ms instruction. Procedural training (restraint techniques, inmate transport) Basic fitness training, and Legal education training.
Next up for these officers is Jail School 😀 for another 40 hours of intense training.
