Knox County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area The goal of the Knox County CISMA is to minimize the impact of invasive plant species in Knox County.

The Knox County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) is a group committed to fighting invasive plant species in Knox County and has partners from local organizations, government, and other community members.

Everyone is welcome to join Knox County CISMA at Pyramid Mound for a hands-on opportunity to tackle invasive species in your community! This volunteer event is part of a nationwide initiative to control invasive plants in public parks and natural areas. We'll be removing Wintercreeper. Volunteers will assist staff in removing these species either by hand-pulling or with provided hand tools. A brief presentation on plant identification and safety will be given. What to bring: water bottle, closed-toe shoes, hat, and long pants.

This event on Saturday Nov. 15th will start at 9:30 am and we will go until about noon.

This volunteer event is part of a nationwide initiative to control invasive plants in public parks and natural areas. We'll be removing Asian Bush Honeysuckle on this day. Volunteers will assist staff in removing these species either by hand-pulling or with provided hand tools. A brief presentation on plant identification and safety will be given. What to bring: water bottle, closed-toe shoes, hat, and long pants.

Due to some communication errors, we will be moving the Volunteer Day to Pyramid Mound instead of Sugarloaf Mound. This Saturday, August 23rd at 8:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Again, we will be at Pyramid Mound not Sugarloaf mound tools will be provided, and we will be focusing on Asian Bush Honeysuckle.
