We wish to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported our lobster dinner fundraiser by purchasing a dinner or making a donation. A special thank you goes to the Vinalhaven lobstermen who generously donated a portion of their catch, Frankie T, Bean Maine Lobster, Inc., and the Vinalhaven Fishermen’s Cooperative for their donations and assistance. We are also grateful to Islands Closet and Beth’s Farm for the fresh corn, Slip Away for the butter, Fishermen’s Friend for saving all of the cardboard beverage trays and chips, Vinalhaven Energy for providing propane, and the Vinalhaven Lions Club for the use of their corn roaster.
It truly takes a team to pull off an event like this, and we are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a generous community.
Finally, we can’t forget to thank each of our firefighters who gave up their Sunday afternoon to help make this fundraiser a success. It’s not often that we get the opportunity to work side by side when it isn’t a training exercise or an emergency call. Instead, we spent the day listening to music, sharing plenty of laughs, holding an entertaining lobster band battle, cooking together, and serving dinners faster than you can get a coffee and a donut through a Dunkin’ drive-thru on a Monday morning.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this event such a tremendous success. Your generosity, hard work, and community spirit are what make Vinalhaven such a special place.
