📢 CALLING ALL VENDORS & FOOD TRUCKS!* 🇺🇸🎆

The City of Ville Platte is excited to invite all vendors, food trucks, craft booths, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses to join us for our 3rd Annual Celebration of Independence on Friday, July 3, 2026!

This family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, great food, shopping opportunities, and a spectacular fireworks show to close out the evening.

✅ NO VENDOR FEE REQUIRED!
✅ All vendors are welcome!
✅ Booth and food truck setup begins at 3:00 P.M.
✅ Gates open to the public at 4:30 P.M.

To help us prepare for the event, please contact Candace Dominick-Ledet at City Hall if you are interested in participating so we can maintain an accurate count of vendors.

Below are pictures of all the properties that are included on the City of Ville Platte Adjudicated Property Sale List for June 29, 2026 at 5:30 PM inside the Council Meeting Room at City Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend the live bidding process.

If you are unable to attend in person, Mayor Ryan Leday Williams and City Clerk Donald Bergeron will conduct a live bid opening on Facebook for those unable to be present. You do not have to attend in person to submit a bid.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the available properties, you may stop by Ville Platte City Hall to pick up a compiled sale list.

If this is your first time participating and you would like to learn more about the process, please stop by and speak with Candace. I will gladly provide information to help you feel comfortable with the bidding and purchasing process. You will also receive a bid packet to reference if you have any questions.

You may begin dropping off sealed bids now.
An Adjudicated Property Sale mailbox is located right outside of my office. If you are submitting more than one bid, please remember that each bid must be placed on a separate bid form.

All bid forms and envelopes must be completed in full. Incomplete envelopes or forms will result in the bid not being accepted.

The City of Ville Platte is proud to announce our 2nd Quarter Adjudicated Property Sale scheduled for Monday, June 29, 2026, at 5:30 PM inside the Ville Platte City Hall Council Meeting Room.

Compiled sale lists are now available for pickup at our office. If this is your first time participating and you would like to learn more about the process, please stop by and speak with Candace. I will gladly provide you with the information needed to help you feel comfortable with the bidding and purchasing process. You will also receive a bid packet to reference if you have any questions.

AS MAYOR OF OUR CITY, MYSELF, OUR CITY COUNCIL, AND THE ENTIRE VILLE PLATTE COMMUNITY, WE COME TOGETHER TODAY IN PRAYER, OUR HEARTS ARE HEAVY AS WE MOURN THE TRAGIC LOSS OF MR. JAVION SIMIEN TO GUN VIOLENCE.

LIFE IS SUCH A PRECIOUS GIFT THAT GOD GIVES US EACH AND EVERY DAY, AND YESTERDAY’S TRAGEDY HAS LEFT OUR COMMUNITY IN SHOCK AND PAIN. NO CHILD, NO PERSON, DESERVES SUCH A LOSS. THIS IS A HURT THAT TOUCHES ALL OF US.

AS PARENTS, FAMILIES, AND MENTORS, WE MUST STAY ENGAGED IN OUR CHILDREN’S LIVES. OUR YOUTH ARE CONSTANTLY EXPOSED TO SOCIAL MEDIA, WHILE THERE IS POSITIVE CONTENT, THERE IS ALSO A GREAT DEAL THAT PROMOTES NEGATIVITY AND VIOLENCE. WE MUST BE PRESENT, WE MUST GUIDE THEM, AND WE MUST SHOW THEM A BETTER WAY.

AS A COMMUNITY, WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO REACH OUR YOUNG PEOPLE, TO ENCOURAGE THEM, TO LIFT THEM UP, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, TO SHOW THEM LOVE.

TODAY IS A SAD DAY IN OUR CITY. WE ARE LOSING OUR YOUTH FAR TOO SOON, TO GUN VIOLENCE AND TO THE JAIL SYSTEM. THIS MUST CHANGE.

OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY OF JAVION SIMIEN AND TO EVERY FAMILY AFFECTED BY THIS TRAGEDY. MAY GOD GIVE YOU STRENGTH, COMFORT, AND PEACE DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.

I ASK THAT GOD CONTINUES TO COVER AND PROTECT EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY. LET US COME TOGETHER, STAND STRONG, AND WORK TOWARD A SAFER, MORE LOVING FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN.

Good Morning,

Autism Sunday Fun Day was truly a success! 💙🌈

Amber, Falonda, Kela, Nekeitha, Crystal, Toddra, and all of the parents who supported their amazing children did an outstanding job putting this event together. The love, dedication, and support shown throughout the day was inspiring and well deserved.

Mayor Williams and the City Council would like to sincerely thank everyone for allowing the City of Ville Platte to partner with you for this special event. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of such a meaningful day.

The pavilion was filled with vibrant colors, joy, and unity. Every table and group beautifully displayed the love they have for their awesome babies. This event showed the power of parents coming together as a team to provide comfort, encouragement, understanding, and support for one another.

To all parents — you are amazing because you carry the torch for your child when they are unable to. Your strength, love, and advocacy do not go unnoticed.

Pictures are attached, and the beautiful colors and smiles lit up every moment captured throughout the day. 💙🧩✨

The Ville Platte City Council met on Thursday and approved the Resolution for the DOTD Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant Award to construct sidewalks from Main St. to Tom Drive. The total award for the City of Ville Platte is $772,990!
