The Villa Park Police Public Safety Cadet Unit 0620 is for youth ages 14-20 who are interested in a career in Law Enforcement.

Tonight our Cadets took advantage of the warm weather and learned about how officers conduct traffic stops. See you next Wednesday at 7pm!

The last two weeks our Cadets have had training on the 4th Amendment, Search & Seizure Laws, Proper Use of Force in Law Enforcement and handcuffing. Next session will be proper searching techniques. See you next Wednesday at 7pm. New members are always welcome every week!

Due to the forecasted Winter storm this Wednesday, 2/12/25, we are canceling the cadet meeting. We will be back to meetings next week and training on search & seizure laws and handcuffing techniques. See you on 2/19/25 at 7pm.

We had a great group return! Thank you to all the officers who came and presented on the various equipment that is used during a shift. This included medical equipment, less than lethal systems, tire deflation devices, duty gear and fi****ms. The Cadets even had an opportunity to try on the very heavy protective armor we have. See you next Wednesday at 7pm!

We had an epic opening night! Thanks to everyone who came out. Thank you Chief Rivas for welcoming the group. We showcased the history of the program and the many years of awards it has received. The Explorer Meeting tonight is canceled. We will see you all next week 8/2/23 @ 630pm at the police department.

Yesterday, our Explorers learned about traffic safety management and radio procedures. Plus we added a new recruit. The group keeps growing every week. See you at Summerfest on Saturday and next Wednesday for the meeting!

Today our Explorers took their first field trip to Ray Oherrons, the local police store, and picked up their uniforms! See you Wednesday night at 630pm for our meeting. Looking for more members.
