ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES OF THE REFERENDUM: If approved, the Strengthen 45 referendum would provide approximately $4.4 million in additional yearly operating revenue for District 45. Superintendent Dr. Brian Graber explains how the funding would help restore recently reduced student programs and supports, maintain appropriate staffing and reasonable class sizes, and reduce the need to use savings for routine operating costs or make deeper reductions in the future. ON THE BALLOT: District 45’s referendum proposal will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot. If approved, the referendum would generate approximately $4.4 million in additional annual revenue and increase the tax rate by 26.7 cents per $100 of equalized assessed value. The projected impact on a $350,000 home is approximately $299 per year, or $25 per month.

The referendum will appear on the ballot as the following question:

Shall the limiting rate under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law for School District Number 45, DuPage County, Illinois, be increased by an additional amount equal to 0.2670% above the limiting rate for levy year 2025 for school purposes, including funding instructional programming, student support and services, operations and maintenance, and safety and security improvements, and be equal to 3.2229% of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property therein for levy year 2026?
