July was a busy month indeed for the Villa Grove/Bonanza Volunteer Fire Department!

Here’s a look at our call stats for the month of July. With a variety of calls keeping our department busy, we want to recognize our dedicated volunteers for the time, hard work, and commitment they continue to give.

Day or night, our volunteers are always ready to answer the call and do their part to serve and care for our community. We’re proud to be here when you need us! 🚒

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the community member who reported seeing smoke. Because of your quick action, we were able to locate a lightning strike fire and extinguish it before it had the chance to spread.

As a reminder, Stage 2 Fire Restrictions remain in effect, and conditions are still very dry. If you see smoke or signs of a fire, please don’t hesitate to call 911. Your awareness and willingness to report concerns help keep our community safe.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Villa Grove/Bonanza Volunteer Fire Department! 🇺🇸

We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day as we celebrate our nation’s freedom and those who have served to protect it. We hope your day is filled with family, friends, great food, and time spent making memories.

As we celebrate this Independence Day, we ask everyone to help protect our community by respecting the Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. With the current fire danger, we all play an important role in keeping our neighbors, public lands, and first responders safe.

For all those asking, YES the fire ban is still in effect!
We will let you know when it is lifted.

Effective immediately Saguache County is now in a Stage 2 Fire Ban.

Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who were lost yesterday and prayers for recovery for the injured.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service is devastated to share that three wildland firefighters lost their lives on Saturday, June 27, as part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Additionally, two crew members were injured in the line of duty and have been transported to a hospital.

Our immediate focus is on supporting their families, friends, and fellow crewmates during this incredibly difficult time.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service stands united with the USDA Forest Service in grief and in our unwavering support for the loved ones left behind. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Silent auction ends at 2:00pm. Bake sale all day.
