Congratulations to Veterans Treatment Court Graduates!

Judge Kimberly Musselman poses with recent Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) participants. The group of five graduates is the largest since Judge Musselman took over the docket a year ago. Veterans' courts are designed to assist defendants with complex treatment needs associated with substance abuse, mental health, and other issues unique to the traumatic experience of war.

Volunteer veteran mentors are an essential part of the VTC program. They assist their fellow veterans providing a supportive relationship throughout the program.

Judge Recksiedler Takes on Leadership Role for Florida Conference of Circuit Judges

Congratulations to Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler, the newly elected Secretary for the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges. Chief Justice John Couriel swore her into office at this year’s Circuit Judges Conference along with Chair-Elect Circuit Judge Cymonie Rowe of the Fifthteenth Judicial Circuit and Treasurer Circuit Judge Russell Roberts of the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.

Seminole County Drug Court- Continuing to Save Lives, Reduce Crime and Stengthen Communities!

Congratulations to recent graduate Andrew Frederick. Andrew's story was nothing short of inspirational. According to Circuit Judge Melissa Souto, who presides over Seminole County's Adult Drug Court, Andrew went from homelessness to stable housing. He succeeded in getting a job, a promotion, and staying clean! Judge Souto credits success stories like these to the hard work and dedication of drug court participants and the entire Drug Court team!

Brevard and Seminole County Court Judges attend 2026 Conference

The annual conference provides an opportunity for the judges to attend classes and presentations to enhance and supplement their judicial education. They networked with judges from around the state of Florida to share knowledge on topics such as immigration, criminal and civil law.
