Joliet Catholic Academy's Hall of Champions: Athletics 2026 Class will be inducted on Saturday, September 26. Today, we are proud to feature Michael Carlin '96, one of this year's inductees.
Mike's youth football career started with the Joliet Raiders. He continued his football journey at JCA where relentless work ethic, leadership, and focus made him a force on the field. He was named 2-time 1st Team All-Conference and capped off his prep career as the ESCC MVP his senior year. His consistent play also earned him 2-time 1st Team All-Area honors. Demonstrating exceptional leadership both on and off the field, he was named 1st Team All-State, Illinois top 100 and served as team captain during his senior season.
Taking his talents to the Division I level, he became a cornerstone of the defense at Eastern Illinois University. Over 5 seasons with the Panthers, he proved his durability and talent by becoming a 4-year letterman and 3-year starter. His senior season marked the pinnacle of his college career, he was elected as team captain by his teammates and led the Panthers in sacks. Solidifying his legacy as one of the program's premier pass rushers, he earned 1st Team All-Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) honors.
