Vote Dr. Nisha Patel, Vienna Town Council, May 7th
“I am running for town council to serve the people of this town and make responsible decisions regarding the growth of Vienna and its impact on the community.”
• Development is inevitable and needs to be done responsibly, with considerations to how building height and density affect traffic congestion, walkability, town parks, infrastructure, and our local schools • Issues should be addressed before and not after development occurs and involves active citizen engagement, with opportunities to present ideas and concerns • I have voiced my concerns to members of the Town Council and have offered ideas on traffic mitigation • I have been involved in MAC issues with the Northeast Vienna Civic Association and have spoken at public hearings • I am a mom, a local small business owner, and a doctor. I know the importance of building a family-oriented community, I am interested in the challenges faced by the small business owners in town and I know the importance of gathering the facts and considering options before making decisions
A new set of ideas and a fresh perspective is what I offer. Vienna is a great town that is walkable and family friendly. Let’s keep it that way! We have an opportunity to get MAC zoning right and the risks are too great to rush things through without proper due diligence and citizen input. My husband and I have lived in Vienna for 12 years and I opened a local business 5 years ago. We love this town and the people in it! I am running for town council because I recognize that we are at a crucial time for our Town and we need elected officials who are committed to responsible development.
