Starting September 21 through September 28, you may notice an increase in proactive traffic enforcement from our police officers, as they work to reduce distracted driving throughout the Town of Vienna.

Check out drivesmartva.org and dmv.virginia.gov for more information about the dangers of distracted driving.

Registration for the "2026 Cops & Kids Fun Run" is now open!!!

Visit vpdfunrun.com to register.

Act quickly! Spots are limited to the first 300 kids, who will also receive a goodie bag and race day T-shirt.

If you miss out on registration, don't worry! Every kid who shows up on race day is welcome to participate in all the fun and will receive a medal.

Good morning, Vienna!

Our officers will be closing some roads and directing traffic to ensure the safety of our racers participating in the Navy Federal Credit Union 5K.

Roads will be closed at 9 a.m. and will reopen in stages after runners complete each leg of the race. All roads are expected to reopen by 10:30 am.

The Vienna Police Department is excited to announce this year's "Cops & Kids Fun Run" which will be held on Sunday, October 18.

Join us for our annual, family-friendly community event featuring face painting, food, music, games and of course, the Fun Run! This event is a way for our department to give back to our community, and an opportunity to connect with children and their families in a fun, safe environment.

📅Date: Sunday, October 18, 2026
⏰Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍Location: 128 Center Street South, Vienna, Virginia 22180 (Vienna Elementary School)
💰Cost: FREE to attend
🎃Theme: Halloween - participants encouraged to wear costumes 🧛

Come join the Vienna Police Department and Herndon Police Department for the "Two Towns Bike Rodeo" on Saturday, September 26.

Bring the family, bring your bike, and spend the morning with us. We’ll have a bike cone course, helmet fitting, rules-of-the-road tips, and several of our community partners on site.

It’s a free event and a good opportunity to meet officers, ask questions, and have some fun while learning more about bike and e-bike safety.

Join us in recognizing PFC Cameron Harshfield, PFC Patrick Ludwick, and Ofc. McKenna Nolan for their outstanding response during a recent medical emergency.

On August 20th, PFC Cameron Harshfield, PFC Patrick Ludwick, and Ofc. McKenna Nolan responded to a residence for a CPR in progress involving an unresponsive individual. Upon arrival, the officers quickly recognized the signs of a possible overdose and made the decision to administer Narcan.

Within moments, the individual regained consciousness, and rescue personnel arrived to provide continued medical care.

PFC Cameron Harshfield, PFC Patrick Ludwick, and Ofc. McKenna Nolan demonstrated exceptional teamwork, sound judgement, and a commitment to protecting and serving our community. Their actions are a strong reflection of the training, professionalism, and dedication demonstrated every day by the members of the Vienna Police Department.
