🇺🇸 A Unique Learning Experience at Parris Island 🇺🇸

Mrs. Hersman recently had the opportunity to spend three days at Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot, gaining a firsthand look at Marine Corps training and the many career paths available to students.

During the visit, she learned not only about the boot camp process but also about the wide range of career opportunities within the Marine Corps—many of which provide valuable skills and certifications that transfer directly into the civilian workforce.

The experience highlighted something important: while the Marines are one of the primary fighting forces defending our nation, they also place a strong emphasis on developing their Marines, supporting their families, and preparing them for long-term success both during and after service.

This was a truly rewarding experience, and Mrs. Hersman is excited to share what she learned with students who may be interested in exploring these opportunities.

Join us in congratulating Adem Hupp, Glenville State University and Parkersburg High School graduate, on enlisting into the Marines. When asked “why the Marines?” He said:
“I chose the Marines for the brotherhood, challenge, and the pride that comes with being a Marine. As it is said, once a Marine, always a marine. I can carry that sense of accomplishment with me for the rest of my life.”

Off to Parris Island, SC – where young men and women become warriors. Join us in wishing the best of luck to .54 we know he’s going to do great things and we’re looking forward to seeing him in a short 3 months wearing the uniform we all proudly wear.

He’s demonstrated his adaptability with physical prowess as well as mental fortitude, serving as an intelligence specialist.
