This morning at approximately 10:25 Drayton Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire, firefighters arrived on scene pov before the first due truck and advised that there was a fully involved barn fire. Engine 21, Tanker 24, Knocker 22 and Rescue 26 responded along with many other apparatus from assisting departments. Engine 21 was the first due engine and firefighters made a fast and aggressive knock down on the fire. We at Drayton Fire Department would like to thank all the other agencies that responded along side us to assist with this fire.

Drayton Volunteer Fire Department would like offer our deepest apologies for the loss of Crisp County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Browne. Our thoughts and prayers our with CCSO and the family of this young man.

Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyee Browne: EOW July 5,2023
Deputy, son, grandson, loved one, and friend while these are all titles that describe Deputy Tyee Browne. Hero is the title we bestow upon him today. At 26 years old, this young man faced evil while protecting our community.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Deputy Browne’s family, friends, and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this profound loss. Please know that we are here for you, offering our unwavering support and assistance in any way we can.
