We hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing holiday weekend! To help ease our way back into the school week, Tuesday, May 26th, will be PAJAMA DAY! Students and staff are invited to wear their favorite school-appropriate pajamas and enjoy a cozy, comfy day back together at school. 💤🧸 Let’s relax, recharge, and finish the year strong, Oakies! ❤️

A little late, but too special not to share… 💛🌳🎶 Last week, our 4th graders took the stage for an unforgettable "Oak Forest Strong" end-of-year and end-of-elementary program. Under the direction of Mrs. Nikki Hanson, and with the support of our incredible specials team (Coach Brassard, Mrs. Kennedy, and Mrs. Lawhon), our students gave a performance filled with heart, talent, and emotion.

From powerful songs like “I Believe I Can Fly” to “This Is Me,” there were definitely tears in the audience and all the feels as we watched our students shine one more time on the Oak Forest stage.

As the lyrics reminded us, we hope our students always know they are brave, they are exactly who they are meant to be, and they never have to face life alone. They are Oak Forest Strong. 💪 We are here for them, we believe in them, and we will always have their backs.

It’s hard to believe these students are leaving us and heading off to middle school, but we know they are ready for the journey ahead. We are so proud of who they are and all they have accomplished.

No matter where life takes them, Oak Forest will always be home. Once an Oakie, always an Oakie! 🌳🖤💛

What an unforgettable afternoon yesterday at our 4th Annual Oakie Awards! 🏅✨

This year’s Olympic-themed celebration, "Champions in Education: Going for Gold," perfectly captured the heart, humor, and teamwork that make our Oakie family so special.

We kicked things off with the National Anthem performed by Ms. Revia on the harmonica, followed by a hilarious “unsynchronized swimming” skit by members of our Sunshine Committee that brought us right back to the days of “Old Oak” and the unforgettable end-of-year skits our grade level teams used to perform at the end-of-year staff party. It was the perfect mix of nostalgia, laughter, and Oakie spirit! 💛

Staff arrived dressed in incredible Olympic-themed costumes, fully embracing the spirit of the day and showing the same team pride we’ve celebrated all year long.

Our emcee, Mr. Dart (a former Oakie himself) led us through an exciting awards ceremony recognizing staff-nominated and staff-voted Oakie superlatives. Gold, silver, and bronze honors were awarded in each category as we celebrated the unique talents, personalities, and contributions that make our campus shine. 🥇🥈🥉

A huge thank you to our Sunshine Committee for providing pizza and treats as we reflected on the incredible year we’ve had together. We began this school year with the theme “This Is Our Year,” and that’s exactly how we’re ending it — celebrating student success, strong teamwork, and a campus culture that truly feels like family. 🖤

Congratulations to our Pre-K and 3rd Grade campus house team, the Golden Galleons, for winning the 2025-26 Team Oakie House Cup for their outstanding teamwork and collaboration throughout the year! 🏆💛

And a very special THANK YOU to the amazing Oak Forest Elementary PTO for generously donating $1,200 in gift cards to be shared among the team. Your support means so much to all of us! 🙏

We are incredibly proud of the joy, laughter, and camaraderie that events like this bring to our campus. Here’s to continuing this cherished tradition and making next year’s Oakie Awards another celebration to remember! 💫 Olympics Vidor ISD

📣REMINDER: Update to Friday's Student Success Challenge Reward Day📣

Due to the impending weather and several days of expected rain, we have made the decision to move Friday’s Student Success Challenge reward day indoors to ensure a safe and fun experience for our students. While we are disappointed that we will not be able to do the water activities as originally planned, we are excited to share that students will still enjoy a fun-filled day! F5 Bounce Rentals has allowed us to switch our water inflatables to indoor obstacle courses and bounce houses that will be set up inside the gym

Students will rotate through:
▪️Bounce houses/obstacle courses in the gym
▪️Indoor recess activities in the main hallway
▪️Games and activities in classrooms/grade level common areas

Because we are no longer doing water activities, students do NOT need to wear swimsuits and do NOT need to bring towels or a change of clothes. Students may wear comfortable clothing appropriate for active play.

Students are also welcome to bring:
▪️Board games or card games
❌Electronics or gaming devices are NOT permitted.

We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we adjust plans due to the weather. We are committed to making sure our Oakies still have a fun, memorable, and rewarding end-of-year celebration! 🎉🖤💛

Today, we celebrate two incredible members of our Oak Forest family for National Speech-Language Pathologist Day!

A huge thank you to Elizabeth Reisch, our speech-language pathologist, and Morgan Denman, our speech-language pathology assistant, for the tremendous impact they make every single day. Through their dedication, patience, and expertise, they help our students overcome speech and language challenges and find their voices, something that has a lasting impact not only on their education, but also on their confidence and future success.

Beth and Morgan bring such positive energy to our campus, and their love for students shines through in everything they do. They work tirelessly to meet the unique needs of each child and help them grow in so many ways. We are so thankful for the care, encouragement, and support they provide to our little Oakies every day!

Thank you, Beth and Morgan, for helping our students find their voice and for making our campus a better place! 🖤💛

📢 Online Enrollment for the 2026-2027 School Year is NOW OPEN! 💛

We know this school year isn’t even over yet, so registering for next year may not be at the top of your to-do list just yet. 😊 However, completing enrollment early helps us plan ahead for staffing, class schedules, and all the things needed to make next year successful for our students!

Please log in to Skyward Family Access (https://bit.ly/enrollVISD2026) and complete the registration process as soon as possible. We want all of our little Oakies set and ready for an amazing start to the 2026-2027 school year! 🌳✨
