Vidalia High School Healthcare Science students have embraced numerous opportunities to earn industry-recognized healthcare certifications. For the first time in VHS history, 10 students earned workforce-ready credentials in Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and Physical Therapy Aide (PTA).These students include Camryn O'Neal, Addison Welch, Kayla Stephens, Samuel Varn, Ansley Jones, Elijah Thompkins, Judith Hussey, Rylan Keene, Dayanna Onate-Leon, and Seth Powell.
By earning these certifications, students are qualified for immediate employment opportunities upon graduation.
Healthcare Science teachers Shellie Cleghorn and Blake Brooks commend these students for their dedication and hard work in completing this rigorous career pathway training program.
In addition to these accomplishments, 20 Healthcare Science students earned OSHA-10 certifications, and 24 students obtained First Aid/CPR certifications. The exciting part of these programs is that certifications can be stacked, allowing students to earn multiple credentials while continuing their healthcare education. Many students have already earned combinations of certifications such as PCT, PTA, CCMA, First Aid/CPR, and OSHA-10, giving them an even greater advantage as they enter the workforce or pursue additional healthcare training.
Vidalia High School is proud to provide students with valuable career training opportunities and remains committed to expanding certification and workforce readiness programs for future students.
