πŸ“Publication Drop! 🎀

Research translated into common-sense information for the benefit of all Texans. The picture-perfect results of the Land Grant Mission!

The new Rangeland Resilience: Using Fire and Grazing Together publication highlights how pairing these two foundational tools can strengthen rangeland health and productivity. This article explores how integrating prescribed fire and targeted grazing creates a dynamic landscape that improves forage, supports wildlife, and enhances soil and water function. Learn how this practical, science-based approach can help landowners build more resilient systems and better manage variability across Texas rangelands.

Observation πŸ‘€ is the most valuable monitoring tool you have at your disposal on your ranch. Even in pretty severe drought, I found a lot to look at on the ranch in Hartley County yesterday. Even a minimal amount of rain has brought a hint of green.

Engelmann daisy , sand sagebrush, Tahoka daisy, dung beetle activity (albeit last year's), blue grama, scarlet globemallow, deer browsed yucca blooms, big and little bluestems, sand dropseed, prickly pear hosting pollinators, mulies in velvet, happy dogs and Alibates flint.....ranch country can be incredibly resilient if we give it the opportunity to succeed!

I encourage you to take the time to observe and understand!

And also observe and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who sacrificed for our freedoms ~ Jenny
