Thank you to City of Vicksburg Youth Services and Adrian Reddix of the City’s IT Department for helping educate our youth at the our summer program about technology using Raspberry Pi’s! These devices were purchased with grant funding from UNUM to help prepare our next generation of STEAM leaders in the Vicksburg community who normally don’t have access to these resources.

⚠️ FLASH FLOOD THREAT TODAY ⚠️

Most of Mississippi is under an Elevated (Level 2) flash flood threat through this afternoon as heavy rainfall moves across the state.

🌧️ 1-3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible, may fall in a short period of time over already saturated soils.

Potential impacts include:
🚧 Flooded roads
🏠 Minor flooding of structures
🌊 Flash flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas

If you encounter a flooded roadway, remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown. Just a few inches of moving water can sweep away a vehicle.
Stay weather aware and monitor local forecasts and alerts throughout the day.

TIME CHANGE: Because of heavy rain moving into Vicksburg this morning, the Vicksburg Farmers Market has been moved to this afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. at Washington Street Park.
