On or after Monday, April 6, crews will close S.R. 250 between Aaron Road and Township Line Road just east of S.R. 129 to complete a box culvert replacement project in Switzerland County. Public Service Announcement:

The Vevay Police Department has witnessed multiple unsafe passes at the 4-way stoplight and several people passing on the right in front of the school.

Here is what is currently posted in the Indiana Drivers Manual.

Prohibited Passing
It is dangerous and illegal to try to pass other vehicles in the following situations:
โ€ข A solid yellow line is marked on the driverโ€™s side of the center line of the road
โ€ข A yellow, pennant-shaped โ€œNo Passing Zoneโ€ is posted on the left-hand side of the road, or
a white rectangular โ€œDo Not Passโ€ sign is posted on the right-hand side of the road
โ€ข When you are driving on or approaching a curve in the road
โ€ข When you are approaching the crest of a hill or grade in the road
โ€ข Within 100 feet of an intersection, railroad crossing, bridge, viaduct, or tunnel

Here is the current Indiana IC Code to reference.

IC 9-21-8-6 Overtaking and passing on the right; conditions
Sec. 6. (a) A person who drives a vehicle may overtake and pass upon the right of another vehicle only under the following conditions:

(1) When the vehicle overtaken is making or about to make a left turn.

(2) Upon a roadway with unobstructed pavement of sufficient width for two (2) or more lanes of vehicles moving lawfully in the direction being traveled by the overtaking vehicle.

(b) A person who drives a vehicle may overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right only under conditions that permit overtaking upon the right in safety. Overtaking upon the right may not be made by driving off the roadway.

On or after Monday, October 6, crews will close S.R. 156 between Turtle Creek Road and Bulgar Tapp Road located just east of Florence to perform slide correction work in Switzerland County. The closure is expected to take up to one week, weather permitting. The detour follows S.R. 56.
