All nine Vestavia Hills City Schools are blessed to have the presence and protection of the men and women of VHPD every day, and we join with the department in celebrating this hard-earned achievement!

The Vestavia Hills Police Department was officially presented with its Accreditation Certificate from the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP).

This achievement reflects our department’s commitment to meeting the highest professional standards and best practices in law enforcement while providing accountable, effective, and community-focused service to the citizens of Vestavia Hills.

Accreditation is a significant accomplishment and serves as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of every member of our department. This recognition would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our sworn officers, professional staff, and support personnel who consistently strive for excellence in everything they do.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all Vestavia Hills Police Department employees for their commitment to this process and their continued dedication to serving our community.
We also offer special thanks to Chief Mark Jones of the Headland Police Department, the AACOP Accreditation Committee, and our assessors for their guidance, support, and assistance throughout the accreditation process.

We are honored to receive this distinction and remain committed to continuous improvement, professional excellence, and serving the citizens of Vestavia Hills with integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
