🎨✨ Martha Terry has made a behind-the-scenes difference at Binghamton University for more than 20 years. As assistant director of research advancement, Martha is a creative force behind the University’s posters, brochures, leaflets and other outlets that highlight our research and technological breakthroughs, centers and programs. She handles this design responsibility with high quality and professionalism.
But Martha’s talents don’t stop there. For the past nine years, she has coordinated The Art of Science competition — a unique showcase that spotlights the artistic components of scientific research. Faculty, staff, postdocs and students submit images captured through cameras, microscopes and telescopes, and Martha not only selects the entries featured during Research Days, but also recruits judges from across campus to help determine the winners.
At her core, though, Martha is a magazine designer — and an excellent one at that. Her work in the fall 2024 issue of Binghamton Research was a design masterclass. She took a group of outstanding stories and used illustrations, stock art and inspired typefaces to make the content jump off the page.
It was an enjoyable publication for me to edit and read — and Martha deserves kudos for her work.
👏 Thank you for everything you do, Martha!
