Heather Reekie for Verona City Council

Heather Reekie for Verona City Council I strongly value communication and open government, and look forward to helping make sure Verona remains a great place to live, work, and play.

I have spent my career as a public school speech and language pathologist who highly values communication. And I have had the privilege of communicating with more of you in my community as a District 4 Alderperson. It has been my pleasure to discuss and advocate for change around issues that affect us all. I promote environmentally and fiscally responsible growth by voting yes for fill-in developm

ent, and no for urban sprawl. I encourage revitalization of Downtown Verona by supporting the City's purchase of properties that become available for projects that promote walkability and work force housing options. I ensure our public safety personnel and infrastructure is adequately funded, and supported moving to 24 hour fire service. The residents of Verona deserve this and much more, and I will continue to work for your priorities, communicating what is important to you. Heather is a:
• Verona homeowner for 12 years
• Mom of two school-aged children
• Volunteer La Leche League Leader and Treasurer
• Public school teacher for 19 years
• Verona District 4 Alder for two terms

Donations in any amount are appreciated for this campaign for another two year term on Verona's City Council. Contributions can be sent to:

The conditions, behavior, and issues in the City of Verona Fire Department, investigated and reported on by The Riseling Group, are unacceptable. The Police and Fire Commission should meet promptly to resolve them. It is clear that change in leadership is necessary, and state statutes give the Police and Fire Commission authority over employment matters. Public safety is a top priority to me as an alder.

Heather will now be an alder for District 4! Feeling a bit of urgency to get to work, but I'm gonna celebrate for now. I really appreciate everyone's outpouring of support and help. I appreciate you all so much!
