Twenty-five years later, September 11 remains a day we remember together.

Here in Verona, we’re fortunate to know what community looks like up close. It’s the first responders who answer the call. The businesses and organizations that step up when help is needed. The neighbors who look out for one another. And the countless small acts of kindness that rarely make headlines, but make a community feel like home.

On September 11, 2001, our country saw both unimaginable loss and an extraordinary willingness to help one another.

Today, we remember those who were lost, honor those who ran toward danger, and hold a little tighter to something worth carrying forward:

Take care of your neighbors. Show up when you can. Be kind when it counts.

Verona, that’s something we can do every day. ❤️

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people who keep our community moving — the people who build things, teach things, make things, fix things, care for people, serve customers, run businesses, answer calls, solve problems, lend a hand and do about a million other things every day.

Whatever your job looks like, your work is part of what makes Verona the community it is.

To everyone who works here, serves here, creates here and contributes here: thank you for all you do.

And in the spirit of the holiday, the Chamber office will be closed today while our team enjoys a little time off, too. 😊

❤️ Saturday is International Day of Charity, and we’re taking the opportunity to recognize the local organizations that spend every other day of the year showing up for our community.

🧔 Apparently Saturday is World Beard Day. Because of course it is.

And in honor of this prestigious occasion, we dug through our photo archives and found a few familiar Verona faces who happen to be sporting some excellent facial hair. 😂 No official ranking, judging, or beard competition here — just some local beards that deserved their moment.

But now we need the community’s help!

🎬 The votes are in… and our Late Night Movie winner is THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW! 👄

This one took a slightly unexpected turn.

While floating in second place for weeks, following the passing of the incomparable Tim Curry, Rocky Horror saw a significant late surge in votes—and ultimately took the top spot.

So this year’s Late Night Movie will be more than a screening. It’ll be a chance to gather under the stars and celebrate an 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙘𝙤𝙣 in one of his most unforgettable roles. ❤️

🐾 Happy National Dog Day, Verona! 🐾

Around here, dogs aren't just pets—they're part of the community. Whether they're making new friends at the dog park, joining the fun at Main Street Trick or Treat, relaxing on a patio at Lake Louie Brewing, or keeping us safe alongside the Verona Police Department's K9 team, they make our city a little happier every day.

Today we're celebrating all the four-legged friends who brighten our neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and events. ❤️

You don’t need an elevator pitch. You don’t need to work the room. You don’t even need to know anyone when you walk in.

Grab some lunch. Find a seat. Meet a few people. Talk about what you do, what’s happening around town, your dog… whatever.

That’s it. Congratulations. You networked. 🎉

Because networking isn’t really about collecting business cards. It’s about getting to know the people in your community — and letting them get to know you.
