City of Vero Beach Announces 66th Annual Halloween Parade & Costume Contest

VERO BEACH, FL — The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department invites families, local organizations, and community members to celebrate Halloween with a beloved Vero Beach tradition — the 66th Annual Halloween Parade & Costume Contest, taking place Saturday, October 31, 2026.

The annual event promises a fun-filled morning featuring creative costumes, decorated cars and floats, prizes, and plenty of Halloween spirit for the entire community.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their cars or floats and show off their Halloween creativity. Prizes will be awarded for Best Decorated Cars & Floats, as well as Best Costumes.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026
Line-Up: 9:30 a.m.
Location: Women’s Club parking lot, 1534 21st Street
Parade Begins: 10:00 a.m.

The parade will travel east on 21st Street, then turn left onto 14th Avenue and continue to the Vero Beach Community Center, where the Costume Contest will take place.

Children ages 0–17 will also receive free Halloween goody bags while supplies last.

There is no entry fee to participate. Parade applications are available through the City of Vero Beach at www.covb.org. Applications are available for cars, floats, and walking groups.

Please note: Political organizations are not permitted to participate.

The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department is excited to announce upcoming registration for its gymnastics program, beginning Saturday, October 17, at 8:00 a.m. at Leisure Square.

The performance-based gymnastics program provides local youth with an opportunity to develop gymnastics skills, build confidence, and participate in a positive and encouraging environment. Participants registered for the upcoming session will also have the exciting opportunity to perform in the Recreation Department’s annual holiday production, “The Mythical Christmas Tree.”

The upcoming gymnastics session is $60 for City of Vero Beach residents and $75 for non-city residents. The fee covers the entire six-week session.

The performance will take place on Sunday, December 13, 2026, with shows at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Presented by the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department’s Aerial Antics Circus and Leisure Square gymnastics students, The Mythical Christmas Tree brings together talented local youth for a dazzling celebration of dance, gymnastics, acrobatics, and holiday magic.

This year’s production tells the story of a legendary Christmas tree that holds the power to bring wishes and hope to the entire forest—if only its star can be found. Audiences will be transported into a magical world of sparkling snowflakes, mischievous frost sprites, and heartwarming holiday spirit as the story unfolds through music, movement, and imagination.

Families interested in gymnastics registration are encouraged to mark their calendars for October 17 at 8:00 a.m. at Leisure Square. The program emphasizes skill development, positive reinforcement, confidence building, and fun, while giving young performers the opportunity to be part of a memorable community production.

Tickets will be available to purchase in October.

The Royal Palm Pointe Fountain is Back!

The grate at Royal Palm Pointe has been repaired, and we’re excited to announce that the fountains will be running again this weekend!

💦 Fountain Hours:
📅 Saturdays & Sundays
⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The fountains will operate the above hours during the Indian River County School District school year.

Come enjoy a refreshing weekend at Royal Palm Pointe!

The fountains at Royal Palm Pointe will be closed Saturday, August 22nd and Sunday, August 23rd due to a broken grate. We will notify the public when the grate has been repaired and the fountains will be running again!
